LOCALS ONLY: A Guide to Hong Kong’s Vintage Shops
Vintage goods: furniture, antiques, and thrift-store finds have officially come back in-style. We’ve seen an outburst of vintage shops pop-up around the city. At Club Monaco, we are inspired by vintage shopping and often decorate our stores with rare objects we sourced from vintage markets all over the world. Here is a list of our favourite ones in Hong Kong:
Spot the azure storefront of InBetween Shop with vintage mannequins, stacked vinyl records, accessories and collector figurines. This one-of-a-kind Poho store is one of those vintage stores that always appears in magazines. Discover a mixture of vintage and new knick knacks from retro home accessories to modern jewelry. With magnificent treasures awaiting you at every corner, you can end up spending a long time inside. It may seem confusing, but that’s the beauty of it. http://inbetweenshop.com/
This hidden gem at Star Street is as artsy and nostalgic as its neighbors. While keeping its DNA as a traditional Hong Kong grocery store, Leekee is now a destination for vintage clothes, funky groceries and unique artworks by local Hong Kong artists and designers. The owner, Karen has decorated the store with her childhood toys, tin boxes, nutcracker dolls and ad leaflets preserved from the 80’s and 90’s. She sources unique vintage clothing from all around the world as well as novelty household products with vintage pop art designs.
Parc Antique n Lifestyle
An antique furniture and coffee shop, this spacious and minimalistic space located inside a Kwun Tung industrial building features rustic French interiors and antique objects. From old fashioned tableware to old books dating back from World War Two, you will feel like you have stepped inside a cottage in Provence! Look for the shop owner, Ceci, a former lifestyle and interiors editor who will tell you more about her love for French culture. http://par-c.com/
Sell Son Don’t Touch Head
Also located in Kwun Tong, this whimsical vintage store is full of rare Hong Kong treasures that often provoke nostalgia. Prepare to be transported inside an “old Hong Kong detective movie,” if you are looking for something interesting beyond clothes, you’ve found the answer. The owner Lai Kit loves collecting retro home objects which still can be used, like clocks, toys, lamps and fans. They also have a speakeasy-type showroom inside a café in Shek Kip Mei. Vintage lovers can come here and appreciate the aesthetics of history over a coffee. It can also be lent for shooting.

http://inbetweenshop.com/
