FOR A NEW MOMENT: The Women’s Fall 2017 Collection Presentation

On September 8th, Club Monaco debuted the Women’s Fall 2017 Collection, inspired by the ever-evolving notion of the modern woman. Set in an open, nascent workspace in the unfinished 71st floor of 4 World Trade Center, the presentation offered a new perspective of a familiar city, a reflective break from the noise to celebrate women of diverse minds, priorities, and passions who embrace the opportunity to start again and create a world of their own making—whether that’s in an office or elsewhere.

Under the direction of newly appointed head of design, Steven Cateron, the ‘see now, buy now’ Fall Collection featured 26 looks made for a new moment: a thoughtful, yet effortless reimagining of the classic fall wardrobe.

“Club Monaco is a brand for individuals and their unique lives, so when I think about the Club Monaco woman, I don’t envision one woman, but many,” says Cateron. “She is multifaceted. She knows who she is and isn’t looking for confirmation of her identity.”

The Fall Collection echoes this sentiment with a considered approach to versatility that feels at once essential and unexpected.

This season will mark the start of a new moment,” said chief executive officer, Francis Pierrel. “We’ve chosen to present a women’s-only collection during New York’s morning commute, but from a location that transcends, shifting the perspective and shaping a new conversation around what workwear means today.”

Not only did the Collection’s design and styling offer a nod to the modern woman, but Club Monaco’s presentation also included participation from the brand’s #WomenWhoDo campaign. Original nail designs from Cyndi Ramirez-Fulton’s Chillhouse were featured, while Chef Jessica Koslow of SQIRL and Umber Ahmad of Mah-ze-Dar Bakery provided guests with Fashion Week morning essentials.

About the Women’s Fall 2017 Collection:

Elevated design and effortless simplicity are hallmarks of the Club Monaco Women’s Fall 2017 Collection, now under the helm of Steven Cateron, head of design. Inspired by the Club Monaco archives, familiar classics are updated with of-the-moment details. “The Collection is purposeful and versatile by design, with pieces not only meant to build upon each other, but to transcend seasons, living seamlessly within one’s wardrobe,” said Cateron. With a focus on streamlined silhouettes and delayered styling, the Collection offers a renewed sense of ease. 

The palette is iconic of the fall season, highlighting rich camels, gray heathers, classic reds, and the occasional nude cut off of black and white. Classic prints and patterns also appear, with updated leopard print, scales of floral, and classic menswear plaids speaking to a quiet ‘80s influence. Styling is delayered and colorblocking reimagined through monochromatic outfitting.

Club Monaco 2017年秋季女裝系列已於9月8日隆重登場,以現代女性不斷蛻變的定義為設計靈感。時裝展於未竣工的世貿中心四號大樓71樓舉行,以簇新而開闊的工作間為背景,從嶄新角度呈現一座為人熟悉的城市,在喧鬧煩囂中停步沉思,歌頌思想、抱負及夢想各異的女性。不論在辦公室還是任何處境,她們總會把握機會重新出發,創造自己的世界。

在新上任的設計部主管Steven Cateron的指導下,「即看即買」的秋季系列將推出為美麗新一頁而創作的26個造型,為經典秋裝換上知性而從容的全新形象。

Cateron表示:「Club Monaco是為不同個體及其獨特生活而設的品牌,所以我構思Club Monaco女士的形象時,想像的並非一位女性,而是多位女性。她八面玲瓏,了解自己的身份,不拘泥於他人的目光。」

秋季系列呼應這個觀點,百變設計經精心構思,營造實用而驚喜的感覺。

行政總裁Francis Pierrel表示:「本季將標誌著美麗新一頁的開始。我們選擇在紐約早上繁忙的通勤時段呈現女裝系列,借助如此遠離地面的空間,以新觀點詮釋工作服的當代意義,開展新的對話。」

除展出設計及造型與現代女性同出一轍的Club Monaco系列,時裝展亦伙拍一起參與品牌 #WomenWhoDo企劃的伙伴,展現Cyndi Ramirez-Fulton創辦的Chillhouse原創美甲設計,而SQIRL的大廚Jessica Koslow及Mah-ze-Dar Bakery的掌舵人Umber Ahmad為賓客送上時裝週早餐必備餐點。

Club Monaco 2017年秋季女裝系列於設計部主管Steven Cateron的帶領下,以高雅設計及簡約從容的風格為標記。為人熟悉的經典元素取材自Club Monaco典藏設計,換上緊貼潮流的細節。Cateron表示:「系列的設計目標明確,造型多變,服飾不但相輔相成,更不受季節所限,在衣櫥中和諧共存。」系列主打簡約的剪裁和造型,締造令人耳目一新的休閒感覺。

系列佈滿秋季的經典色彩,以豐富的駝色、灰色及經典紅色為主,輔以黑白鏤空設計。服飾亦飾以經典印花及圖案,包括換上新設計的豹紋、大小不同的花卉圖案及低調的80年代經典男裝格紋。造型配搭簡約,同色系服飾將撞色設計重新演繹。
